Living Shoreline Solution

Oyster bags had previously been installed at this site, but they eventually fell apart. The eroded slope was re-graded to an approximate 2:1. The coverage with the tied concrete block mat was 120’x28’ – 3360 square feet. All the material was transported by barge over to the island and installed from land. 12 - 10’ x 28’ rolls of Flexamat 10NW with 2’ geogrid extension overlap system were unrolled down the slope, infilled with soil, and then planted with native slat marsh and salt tolerant species.
