Bridge Slope Protection

The Department of Transportation developed a specification named "Bridge Concrete Mat" to be used for erosion and scour prevention under and around bridges. Flexamat® is included in this specification. One of the reason Flexamat® was chosen was for its non-slip surface for armoring slopes.

Flexamat 10-NW with it's 10-ounce non-woven geotextile backing was installed on slopes under the bridge decks. These concrete mats were infilled with crushed limestone. Areas outside of the bridge decks were seeded prior to the bridge concrete mat installation. The vegetated areas used Flexamat® Standard.
