Landfill - Roadside Drainage
Vegetated Concrete Block Mats were selected for the roadside channels at this site after the County had grown frustrated with the performance of rip rap. The channels experience high flows, subjected them to high shear and velocity. The DEQ permit reviewers required a shear analysis which led to the selection of Flexamat Plus to armor the roadside channels.
The County also liked that they could drive over the revetment and mow it, unlike rock rip rap.
