Preparing the Sub Grade:
The sub grade is graded to a "finished grade" as detailed on the project's plans. Rocks and debris 3" or larger are removed from the area. Seed is applied directly to the prepared soil. (Flexamat is installed over the seed.)
Flexamat is delivered to jobsite in rolls easily moved with standard jobsite equipment.
Use a standard Bobcat to unload an install Flexamat right off the truck!
Unrolling attachment
The unrolling attachment consists of four parts. There is the toolbar, pipe, and two paddles. The toolbar connects to the excavator using a cleavice. The pipe goes through the roll of Flex-a-mat. A paddle goes on either side of the roll and the pipe goes through the paddles.
The chains on the paddles connect to the toolbar by hooking onto one of the washers. When transporting the roll, the chains are hooked to the center of the toolbar. This will make the paddles squeeze the roll and prevent it from unrolling. When the roll is in the correct position to be unrolled, the chains are moved to the ends of the toolbar.
When unrolling, sometimes it is necessary to move the chains back to the center of the toolbar. This should be done when there is slack in what has been unrolled and it needs to be stretched tight. This will also straightened what has been unrolled.
If not all of the roll is needed, you can unroll what you need and use a concrete saw to cut through Flex-a-mat. Move the chains back to the center of the toolbar and you can now move the remaining roll to another area.
