Flexamat®,
the Most Flexible Erosion Prevention Solution
Flexamat®
, a tied concrete block mat, is used to control
erosion along roadsides, in swales or ditches or
slopes of highways, roads, or any area where
soil sediment can be moved by water runoff.
Flexamat®
is made into a pattern of molded concrete in
rectangular or round shapes two-inches thick by
4 ¾-inches to 5-inches in length with one-inch
gaps between the joints.
The concrete shapes are
tied together with high strength geogrid. This
product results in the geogrid and the concrete
becoming a high strength flexible hard armor
against erosion, while allowing grass to become
established in the tied concrete block mat. With
Flex-a-mat®‘s
clean edges and durability, it has the strength
to support commercial mowers to maintain the
grass. Once, Flexamat®
is placed, it becomes a soil stabilization
product, and it is extremely resistant to the
forces of water due to its unique construction.
The geogrid used in manufacturing Flex-a-mat®
has a 75 year design life and is UV resistant.
Flex-a-mat®
is available in a standard gray or in earth tone
colors to meet the job specifications. Physical
